The electric ignition lock will be installed in the Passat from 2006 with a modified design and function. The components form one unit and this unit can only be replaced completely. The electronic ignition lock comprises of the following: Access and start authoriation switch Reader unit for immobiliser Bulb for button assignment Solenoid for ignition key withdrawal lock The ignition lock removal pliers serve as a means of removing and installing the ignition lock.
